Now that the iPad has been launched in the states, the question that resurfaces is : Will you be able to play online poker on the iPad ?

Quick answer : NO ! Or, not yet ! :p

This little beauty first seemed like a perfect poker table, it’s very fast, based on Mac OSX (or very close to the iPhone OS) but:

  • AppStore validation is still the same about gambling and cash games : NO REAL MONEY GAMES ON THE APPSTORE!
  • Still NO FLASH support.

Adobe Flash support would have limited the problem of running native poker applications but it seems like Adobe and Apple are in a conflict that doesn’t go in the way of the consumer.

Well, with that said, what’s your point of view about the Apple iPad ?

I personally don’t really see the point of that new fancy gadget: i won’t be replacing my beloved iPhone, and doesn’t come even close to my Macbook. I still doesn’t support USB disc mounting, no multitasking yet (well, apparently until iPad/iPhone OS4).

The most ridiculous thing about the iPad is that you need another device (or computer) to sync it with… You need itunes on another computer to put music on it, you can’t even connect a camera to copy your photos to it.

So this product isn’t even aimed at people who don’t have a computer yet.

The good thing is that there are software updates. So Apple, please fix this before it becomes another Nokia nGage or Windows Millenium ! tee hee :)

If like me, you’re using a macbook that’s hooked up to a second monitor like an HDTV, you probably thought it’s not always convenient, especially if you’re on a couch. Well the guys at RPA Tech created an app for the iPhone that lets you use your phone as a mouse :) Then, you’ll be able to play poker from your couch on your HDTV using only your iPhone !

I think they had a great idea, and it works flawlessly ! All you need is an iPhone and a mac (or Windows) computer on the same network.

You can check out this demo on youtube :

The app is only $0.99 and the server for your computer is free.

Hi, I haven’t posted in a while as the mac poker scene is becoming stable with the new trackers around, and not much time too… just bought a superb Martin OMJM folk guitar hehe :)

Okay so, enough with my life, i figured this little iPhone app could fix the lack of realmoney poker software:

Livepoker iphone appLive Poker is an online “fake money” iphone app that uses your Facebook account to connect to it, so it’s very convenient if you already have lots of friends on facebook playing that game, it’s very popular ! Just click on the image to go to the app store :)

Have a nice sunday at home :) It’s snowing outside so it’s a good reason to stay at home and play a bit of poker ;)

I was looking around the AppStore in iTunes and was overwhelmed by the tons of CRAPPS (crappy applications) around, so this is my little round-up of the best apps you’ll find in the official AppStore. Some are free and some are a few bucks:

The Free ones :

PokerClock : a timer for tournaments

Odds free : a probability calculator, free and not so ugly!

odds-free-poker-iphonePaid apps :

PokerNotes ($2,99) : will help you track your game by taking notes ;)

PokerJournal ($10) : this last application is the most expensive, but some hard work has been put into it: it will help you track all your earnings, it’s a kind of a non-automatic pokercopilot. You will have to input data manually but the statistics are detailed and filtering a very powerful feature. Just have a look at these two videos:
