In this tutorial, I’ll explain to you how to benefit from the $600 bonus on Full tilt Poker. I’ll also explain how, in detail, this bonus works. As I suppose most of you are skeptical about all these figures poker rooms advertise, you probably think it’s some kind of a lure. It is. But there’s also real money and benefits if you understand in detail how the bonus works. And be prepared, there’ll be some mathematics involved… hehe :)

Downloading and Installing Full Tilt

I’m also writing this tutorial as i’ve observed most of referrals who subscribe to Full Tilt from this site don’t include the bonus code. So, i hope this’ll make it easier for future subscribers.

Okay.

First, you need to download and install Full tilt for the operating system you’re running. So far, FTP has been officially supporting Mac OSX and Microsoft Windows. I just hope you’re running a Mac when reading this. Because they’re awesome.

Download links for FTP are a the top of this page.

The install process is pretty straightforward, nothing special involved.

Registering a new FTP account

Next step is creating a new account. If you want to benefit from FTP bonus codes, you need to input the referral code when registering and only then. I don’t think you can enter a referral code after registering, correct me if i’m wrong.

The account creation screen looks like this :

That’s the referral code you must enter when registering to be eligible to the $600 bonus : MACHOLDEM

Now, you’re all set up to benefit from the bonus, if you need to understand how the bonus works in detail, read the next part of the article.

The complicated stuff

The first important thing to understand is that the $600 are for real money players. They won’t give you $600 immediately when you signup for the first time. That’s the catch, and it’s a 100% bonus, meaning they’ll give you $600 only if you put $600 of your own money in the game. You give, they give. Second important thing, what’s taken into account, is the INITIAL deposit. If your first deposit is $100, you’ll only get $100 of bonus. If it’s $600, you’ll get the $600. That’s what i’ve understood.

Bonus can be earned when playing in ring games or tournaments+Sit&Go, rules differ between those two.

In Ring games

In that type of table, for each dollar raked from the pot (the commission that goes to FTP), each player being dealt cards earns 1 FULL TILT POINT. 1 full tilt point equals $0,06. Not much hey :) And you can only earn three points per hand. So this is only interesting when playing small stakes.

In tournaments and Sit&Gos

Here, earnings are faster. For $1 put into tournaments or sit&go fees, you’ll be rewarded of 7 FTP ($0.42). A bit better.

You’ll get your bonus in increments of 10% or $20, depending on your first deposit.

For example, if your first deposit is $100, you’ll be rewarded $10 (10%) every time you get around 160 Full Tilt Points.

If your first deposit is $600, you’ll be rewareded $20 every time you get 330 FTP :)

Well that’s if for now, hope you’ll benefit quickly from the FTP bonus. Feel free to add some comments to make things clearer :)

Now that the iPad has been launched in the states, the question that resurfaces is : Will you be able to play online poker on the iPad ?

Quick answer : NO ! Or, not yet ! :p

This little beauty first seemed like a perfect poker table, it’s very fast, based on Mac OSX (or very close to the iPhone OS) but:

  • AppStore validation is still the same about gambling and cash games : NO REAL MONEY GAMES ON THE APPSTORE!
  • Still NO FLASH support.

Adobe Flash support would have limited the problem of running native poker applications but it seems like Adobe and Apple are in a conflict that doesn’t go in the way of the consumer.

Well, with that said, what’s your point of view about the Apple iPad ?

I personally don’t really see the point of that new fancy gadget: i won’t be replacing my beloved iPhone, and doesn’t come even close to my Macbook. I still doesn’t support USB disc mounting, no multitasking yet (well, apparently until iPad/iPhone OS4).

The most ridiculous thing about the iPad is that you need another device (or computer) to sync it with… You need itunes on another computer to put music on it, you can’t even connect a camera to copy your photos to it.

So this product isn’t even aimed at people who don’t have a computer yet.

The good thing is that there are software updates. So Apple, please fix this before it becomes another Nokia nGage or Windows Millenium ! tee hee :)
